HELP I AM UNDER POLITICAL ATTACK …
AND I’M NOT EVEN RUNNING!!!
I feel like I have been under political attack in my own home for weeks. I usually take this in stride, but this year it is suffocating. My television, my mailbox, my email, my telephone and political signs every 30 feet in my community. It is hard to find relief anywhere. I haven’t answered my phone in days. My television watching has become very limited and consists of mainly of pre-recorded shows. The emails and political signage – all just white noise that is too much for me to even take in. My recycling overflows with political ads that I know groups have paid good money for, but that I can’t even make myself glance at. For me it is all just too much.
This year, you have a better chance getting my vote if you didn’t barge me with who you are and why you are better than the next guy through phone calls, emails, mailing and political ads. Truth and respect for yourself, your incumbent and my family and I will go the distance in how I will choose to vote.
After Blog Thought: I posted this rant on facebook, before my blog, which is not at all typical of me, but after 3 phone calls before 10 a.m. I was spent. I had a friend share with me via a comment that her friend has decided to keep a tally of all of the political calls she receives. The politician with the fewest calls earns her vote. Hmmm. Interesting… I wish I would have kept a tally. I can’t say that my vote would have been based on that alone, but it would have been food for thought.
